A small plane made an emergency landing on the New York State Thruway near Albany on Friday (December 20). The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the twin-engine Beechcraft experienced engine trouble, prompting the pilot to land on the northbound side near Exit 23 shortly after 12:30 p.m. The plane carried three people, all of whom sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured during the incident.

The emergency landing caused northbound traffic to be reduced to one lane, leading to congestion in the area. The plane is registered with South Carolina-based S&S Aviation, a company known for offering flying lessons. The FAA is investigating the incident to determine the cause of the engine trouble.
