Woman Charged After Stabbing in Malta

A woman from Malta has been charged following a stabbing incident that occurred early Wednesday morning (February 19). Margaret Zuk, 57, was arrested by Saratoga County Sheriff's deputies after a fight on Sunset Gulch resulted in a person being stabbed in the chest. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.

Zuk faces charges of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The weapon charge was elevated to a Class D felony due to a previous conviction, though details of the prior conviction have not been disclosed. Zuk was arraigned in Malta Town Court and is being held in Saratoga County Jail as the investigation continues.

The incident involved individuals who were known to each other, and authorities are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the altercation. According to News10, the sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the case.
