The Schenectady Police Department is investigating a case of animal cruelty involving a dog found in poor condition. Over the weekend, a female dog was discovered near Eastern Parkway and McClellan Street in Schenectady. The dog, now named Lavender by the staff at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, was underweight and had severe injuries to her face and ears, including an ear that appeared to have been intentionally cut off. She also had fractured teeth.
Lavender was immediately taken to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, where she is receiving care. The case is being treated as animal cruelty and is under investigation by Schenectady Police Animal Control Officers, Schenectady Police Detectives, and Humane Law Officers from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
