Price Chopper/Market 32 has initiated a charitable drive to support food pantries across the Capital Region. Customers can purchase pre-packaged bags of groceries for $10 at any of the 129 store locations until April 19. Each bag contains essential items such as a 16-ounce jar of peanut butter, a 10.5-ounce can of chicken noodle soup, a 16-ounce box of elbow macaroni, a 5-ounce can of tuna, a 15.5-ounce can of kidney beans, and a 5-ounce can of chunk chicken.

According to WWLP, each store has selected a local food pantry to receive the donated goods. The bags are prominently displayed at the front of each store, with signage indicating the benefiting organization. Pam Cerrone, director of community relations for Price Chopper/Market 32, stated, "This program empowers our customers to make a real difference and help meet the needs of their communities."

The initiative comes at a time when many local pantries are experiencing increased demand. As reported by My Little Falls, some pantries are now serving as many families in a week as they previously did in a month. Cerrone expressed gratitude for the generosity of the customers, emphasizing the importance of community support in these challenging times.

The drive offers an opportunity for customers to contribute directly to their communities, ensuring that their neighbors have access to necessary food items. The effort highlights the role of local businesses in addressing food insecurity and supporting community well-being.
