Troy police are actively investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Monday (April 21) at a home on Third Street. Officers responded to a call at 7:45 a.m. about a 47-year-old man who had been stabbed. Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
According to Times Union, the incident is being treated as a criminal homicide. The stabbing followed an argument inside the building, and the suspect fled before police arrived. Authorities are withholding the victim's name until family notifications are complete. Assistant Police Chief Steven Barker mentioned that significant developments are expected in the coming days.
Neighbors expressed concerns about the property, describing it as a place of frequent activity since the original owner passed away. One neighbor told CBS6 Albany, "There are people coming and going all day, all night long. I don’t even know who they are." Despite the incident, police believe there is no threat to the public.
