Clifton Park Teen Arrested for Murder After Fatal Stabbing

A tragic incident unfolded in Clifton Park, when 20-year-old Simon Brault died after being stabbed on Saturday afternoon (May 31). The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jaiden Ildefonso, who was arrested on Sunday and charged with second-degree murder. The stabbing occurred on Beresford Road around 2:30 p.m.

Brault was immediately rushed to Albany Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries. According to the Times Union, Ildefonso was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and is currently held at the Saratoga County Jail. The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, and investigators have not disclosed further details about the circumstances of the incident.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office revealed that Ildefonso and Brault were related, though the nature of their relationship is not specified. Sheriff Michael Zurlo expressed his condolences to the Brault family, stating, "My heart is heavy for the Brault family, and they are in my thoughts and prayers."

As the investigation continues, Ildefonso remains in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.
