Albany police have arrested 33-year-old Kyle Crayon in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred on Saturday night (July 26) in the West Hill neighborhood. The incident took place during an altercation between Crayon and a 23-year-old man near Third Street and Ontario Street. The victim, whose name has not been released, suffered a severe stab wound to his neck and was transported to Albany Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
According to News10, police responded to the hospital at approximately 10:05 p.m. after being notified of the victim's condition. An investigation revealed that Crayon and the victim knew each other and had engaged in a physical confrontation before the stabbing occurred. Crayon was apprehended shortly after midnight near Ontario Street and Elk Street.
As reported by the Times Union, Crayon was charged with second-degree murder and was scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Sunday morning (July 27). The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather more details about the events leading up to the stabbing.
