The Animal Protective Foundation (APF) in Glenville is participating in the Clear the Shelters initiative, a nationwide effort to find homes for shelter animals. Through August 16, adoption fees for dogs aged one year and older are waived, encouraging more families to adopt.

The APF, located on Maple Avenue, is home to a variety of dogs, each waiting for a loving family. The shelter emphasizes that adopting a dog not only provides a pet with a new home but also saves a life.

The APF has been a cornerstone of animal welfare in the community since 1931, offering adoption services, veterinary care, and community outreach. The shelter cares for about 5,000 animals annually, ensuring each pet receives necessary medical care and attention.

For those interested in adopting, the shelter is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Potential adopters can visit the shelter or browse available dogs online at animalprotective.org.
