Albany Man Faces Prison for Stabbing Wife

An Albany man, Elijah Thomas, has pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted assault after stabbing his wife during an argument. The incident occurred on Sherman Avenue near Quail Street on February 2. The 35-year-old attacked his 31-year-old spouse, inflicting injuries to her torso, legs, and hands. Emergency responders treated her at the scene before she was taken to Albany Medical Center for further care.

The attack took place in front of the couple's two young children, who were unharmed. Thomas was held at Albany County Jail and is facing up to 15 years in state prison. His sentencing is scheduled for February 3, 2026.

According to NEWS10 ABC, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office announced Thomas's confession on Thursday (December 4).
