A 17-year-old boy faces attempted murder charges following a shooting in Troy. The incident occurred early Tuesday (December 9) near the Griswold Heights complex. The victim, a 43-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and is expected to recover fully.

According to CBS 6 Albany, the victim walked into Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries shortly after the shooting. Detectives and evidence technicians responded to the scene, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. This led them to identify the suspect, who was located at the Margaret Phalen Apartments.

The Troy Police Emergency Response Team executed a court-authorized search warrant at the apartment around 2 p.m., resulting in the teen's arrest without further incident. During the search, police recovered a loaded illegal handgun, ammunition, and an extended magazine.

As reported by the Times Union, the teenager is charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery, and weapons possession. Due to his age, authorities have not released his name, and he is currently held in a youth detention facility pending further court proceedings.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Troy Police Department.
