Siena University in Loudonville has announced the creation of a new scholarship in memory of its former men's lacrosse coach, Liam Gleason. The Coach Liam Gleason Memorial Lacrosse Scholarship will be awarded to members of the men's lacrosse team who demonstrate leadership, hard work, and a selfless approach to the game.

Coach Gleason tragically passed away on December 3, following injuries sustained in a fall at his home on November 30. He was 41 years old. His passing has deeply affected the Siena community and beyond. Lou Bosch, Gleason’s uncle, initiated the scholarship to honor his legacy. Bosch shared with NEWS10 that Gleason's impact was profound, noting the large turnout at his funeral and the emotional Honor Walk by his players.

Gleason is survived by his wife, Jaclyn, and their three children. The scholarship aims to continue his legacy of care and compassion within the lacrosse community. Donations to the scholarship fund can be made online through Siena University's website.
