A fire broke out Friday night (December 12) at 17 Garfield Place in Albany, causing significant damage to four properties and sending two individuals to the hospital. The blaze, which started at 17 Garfield Place, quickly spread to neighboring homes at 15, 19, and 13 Garfield Place.
According to the Albany Fire Chief, emergency crews responded to the scene just before 8:20 p.m. The fire displaced 19 residents, and while two people were hospitalized, their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and investigations are ongoing. The affected residents are currently receiving assistance as cleanup efforts continue in the area.
