Amy Accused of Murdering Her Daughter’s Bird

Amy shared the sad news that her daughter's bird Chris Hemsworth has died.

Her daughter has only had the bird for a few short weeks since her 18th birthday and when they arrived home the other day, Hemsworth was found unresponsive. Amy isn't sure how the death happened, but after finding Hemsworth she did some googling. She found out that burning candles or incense can be very damaging to birds and potentially cause death. She was burning an incense the other day and felt that perhaps she contributed to Hemsworth dying.

So on The Bobby Bones Show, Amy was put on the stand. Lunchbox was there to prosecute her for the murder of Hemsworth and Morgan acted as her lawyer in her defense. Lunchbox thinks Amy murdered the bird because she didn't even want the bird in the first place, it was given to her daughter as a gift. He claims she saw the bird as more responsibility for her and began googling ways to make sure the bird didn't live a long life. He says that she should be accused of murder simply for her google history.

When Morgan came to Amy's defense, she said that Lunchbox would have to prove Amy was acting with specific intent to harm Hemsworth. Morgan proved that Amy has burned the incense multiple times before ever having Hemsworth, which meant her burning the incense was something she normally did, not with a purpose to harm Hemsworth. Morgan also proved Amy has been in a good mental state since Hemsworth has been in the home. She stated that in order for Amy to be convicted of the crime, there would have to be criminal mens rea and actus reus, neither of which was proved.

Amy admitted it's been a very emotional time in their house, her daughter is really upset over the loss. Their cat Maggie is also in mourning, she's been meowing out of sadness. It's really been a mourning time for all of them.

Judge Bobby reached a verdict in the trial of Amy vs. Chris Hemsworth the bird, he decided she couldn't be accused of first or second degree murder, but rather third-degree birderer. It was involuntary manslaughter, and with that Morgan won the case proving Amy's innocence. Her sentence from the judge was to drop a bag of bird seed off at a local bird sanctuary.
